03 · The room
A small group of founders, in person, several times a year.
Most of what a founder community sells is a directory and a group chat. This is built the other way round: the room is the people in it, and almost everything happens face to face.
Where this actually is: not open. No members, no price, no dates. Below is the shape of it, and the shape is what the first members will help set — including the entry bar and what it costs, both of which go on a public page before anyone is asked for money.
What it looks like
Six ways the room meets
The table
Eight to twelve, one evening, one subject
A private table and a single question everyone came to answer — a pricing decision, a hiring problem, someone's actual P&L. Not a panel and not a mixer. You leave having said something you would not say on a podcast.
Villa offsites
Two to three days, twelve to sixteen people
A house, a small group and enough time for the conversation to get past the summary. Mornings structured, afternoons not. Phones down for the sessions, which is most of the point.
On the water
A day out of Dubai Marina, one boat
The same group, a different setting, no agenda beyond being off land for a day. Small enough that it stays one conversation rather than splitting into six.
Desert nights
Overnight, an hour from the city
The thing Dubai genuinely has that nowhere else does. Dinner, a fire, no signal to speak of, and the kind of conversation that only happens after midnight with people who understand the job.
Summer, somewhere else
July and August, out of the heat
Dubai is unworkable in high summer and pretending otherwise helps nobody. Those two months move to Europe — a villa week somewhere members actually want to be, which turns the dead part of the calendar into the best part.
Nights out
No badges, no agenda
Occasionally it is just dinner and a late one with people you would want to be out with regardless. Not a networking event with a DJ. If you have to ask what the ROI is, this is not the part for you.
Between all that
And the rest of the year.
A group that is small enough to know everyone in it, where asking a direct question gets a direct answer with a figure attached. Introductions made because someone actually knows both people, not because a directory matched two tags.
Plus the things that only work at this size: a supplier someone has already vetted, a hire someone has already interviewed, the honest version of what a tool costs once you are past the pricing page.
How it runs
Four rules, and they are not soft
Nobody pitches from a stage.
There is no stage. Anyone selling from the front is not invited back.
Nobody sells to the room.
Members do business with each other constantly — but because they chose to, not because someone worked the tables.
Numbers stay in the room.
The reason people say the real figure is that it does not leave. That holds for the dinners, the offsites and the group chat.
Small stays small.
Every format above has a cap, and the cap is the product. It is the first thing that gets ruined by growth and the last thing we will trade.
Who it is for
People who run something, not people who talk about running something.
A business that is genuinely working — revenue, staff, customers who complain, payroll that has to clear. Built by you rather than inherited or joined.
Entry
$1M+ a year
A real, operating business past the point where luck alone explains it. This is where most of the room sits.
Top table
$10M+ a year
A separate table inside the same room, for the conversations that only make sense at that scale. Not a louder badge — a smaller room within the room.
Revenue is the headline figure and not the only test — a business built on one client, inherited money, or numbers nobody can verify does not qualify at any size. The exact verification process gets set with the first members and published here, because a private bar is not a bar.
It is deliberately not for everyone. If you are pre-revenue, looking for investors, or hoping to sell something to the other members, there are better rooms and some of them are free. We listed the alternatives honestly in the guide to founder communities, including the ones that beat us on price and geography.
The list is the only door.
Dates reach it before anywhere else, and the application goes to it before it opens publicly. F0under is spelled with a zero. If you searched founder.com, you're in the right place.
