F0under

The name

The zero is deliberate.

Every founder community claims to be candid. Almost none of them publish a number. The zero is a standing reminder of which kind this is meant to be.

Founder talk rounds up

Listen to how founders describe their businesses in public. A seven-figure company. A strong quarter. Growing fast. Doing really well at the moment. Every one of those is a number that has been sanded down until it cannot be checked, and they all appear at exactly the moment a real figure would have told you something.

It is not usually dishonesty. It is that saying the actual number in a room full of strangers is uncomfortable, and nobody makes you. So the interesting part gets skipped, and everyone leaves having learned nothing.

What that means here

In the interviews, guests say what they sell, what it costs them to sell it, and what broke when they grew. Real names, real companies, real figures — or the number is left out and we say it has been left out. No “seven-figure business” standing in for something nobody will confirm.

The same rule applies to us. When the community opens, the price, the entry criteria and the member count go on a public page. When there is a year of it to report, so does the renewal rate — which, as far as we can tell, no founder community currently publishes.

And it is where everyone starts

The second thing the zero is for. Every company is worth nothing until someone makes it worth something, and the stretch before that happens is the only part of the story that reliably tells you what a person is made of. It is also the part that gets compressed into a sentence once the company works.

What happens next

F0under is being built in the open, in three steps: long interviews with founders who actually run something, then small rooms in Dubai, then a vetted community. None of it is open yet, and the list is the only door.
